Predisposing factors for breastfeeding in the first hour of life

Objective: to investigate the prevalence and predisposing factors breastfeeding in first hour of life public maternity hospitals. Methods: this is a cross-sectional, analytical, exploratory study 390 puerperal women from two Sociodemographic characteristics, obstetric history, variables relating labor, delivery, postpartum were analyzed. Statistical differences assessed using chi-square test or Fisher's exact test. The ratio was calculated Poisson regression with robust variance. Results: delivery room only 29.2% (95% Confidence Interval: 24.68-33.71) associated noise, clamping umbilical cord, skin-to-skin contact, time taken bathe newborn for time. Conclusion: care measures adopted during labor birth, calling strategies improve care. Contribution practice: results can provide guidance structural educational changes, view improving offered population birth.
